Danone is owned by the second largest Israeli company, the 'Strauss Group', which has been supporting, the infamous Israeli Golani Platoon, for over 30 years.
This Platoon is responsible, for the ethnic cleansing, of Palestinians, and continues to help sustain, the illegal occupation of Palestine.
Danone-Israel is the hub-supplying Danone products, to the Middle East, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and Jordan.
Danone opened it's first R&D facility in Israel, in 1998, and later that same year, was awarded the Jubilee Award, the highest award, given by the 'State of Israel', by PM Netanyahu.

In December 2005, Strauss-Elite merged its coffee activity with Santa Clara Indústria e Comércio de Alimentos Santa Clara Indústria e Comércio de Alimentos in Brazil. The merged company, Santa Clara Participações, is the second largest coffee manufacturer in Brazil. It owns the Max Brenner chain of chocolate cafes, with stores in Australia, Israel, United States, Philippine’s and Singapore. In 2005, Strauss-Elite acquired control of the New York-based Sabra food producing company.
